China Start To Build The World's Largest Floating Photovoltaic Power Plant
According to the U.S. media, a company under the China Three Gorges Corporation is building the world's largest surface-floating photovoltaic power station in Anhui Province in eastern China with a total investment of about 1 billion CNY.
In a statement released on the 10th, China Three Gorges Corporation (SINOTRUK) said in a statement released on December 11 entitled "China Launches the World's Largest Floating Photovoltaic Project," said the 150-megawatt photovoltaic project in this year Construction started in July, and now it has partially realized grid-connected power generation. According to the company, this project uses the construction of idle water surface in coal mining subsidence area, which is characterized by the installation of photovoltaic power generation components on the floating body. The project is expected to achieve full grid-connected power generation by May 2018.
Reported that the floating photovoltaic power station develop rapid in China, traditional ground station due to grid congestion cannot be achieved full load power generation. China's National Energy Administration said that in the first three quarters of this year, the abandonment rate of photovoltaic power generation was about 5.6%.
According to Bloomberg New Energy Finance, prior to the project, China's largest surface-floating photovoltaic power station was a 40 MW project in Anhui Province constructed by Sunshine Power Co., Ltd.
